December 21, 1991

...that was the day that I flew an airplane for the very first time. Well, it was actually an ultralight, at Perris Valley Airport, a tiny out-of-the-way strip about 10 miles NE of Lake Elsinore in southern California. I was hooked. Of course, I wasn't even old enough to drive then, and all I knew about airplanes I learned from building models and Flight Simulator on an Apple IIe. But I wanted to make flying a big part of my life after that. And I did. More on how I did that, and the ultralight later.

This blog is going to be the story of my ongoing flying career. At the moment I'm preparing for training in the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan with Garmin 1000. I'm also type-rated in the Boeing 737, and I hope to be able to write about my adventures flying that also.
